Health Care Spending and Related Data: A Webinar

Focus Area:
Sustainable Health Care Costs

When: July 23, 2024 | 11:30am-1:00pm ET

Virtual location: Zoom (register here)

What: The vast US health sector is barely comprehensible with annual, national health expenditures estimated at $5.0 trillion in 2024. We need a more complete picture to understand health care spending. There is no single source of publicly available and easy to use information for collective use by policymakers, purchasers and the public to achieve those purposes. This National Academies for Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine webinar will have current federal, multi-payer, and state systems addressed these questions? Can we leverage the existing models to advance a standardized approach using common methodologies and specifications to improve existing data systems and build towards the desired national goal of controlling cost growth?
