State Representative, Louisiana
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Vanessa Caston LaFleur currently represents District 101 in the Louisiana House of Representatives. She is Vice Chair of the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee and serves on the Appropriations Committee, Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, and Judiciary Committee.
Vanessa is the former Director of Policy and Legislative Services at the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Prior to joining the LDR, she was the General Counsel for the Louisiana Tax Commission and the Director of the Legal Division for the Louisiana Public Service Commission. She is a former member of the State Board of Ethics and was named a John Nolan Fellow by the American Bar Association. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Southern University Law Center. Vanessa received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University A&M College and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from Southern University Law Center.
