Joanne Lynn is the director of the Program to Improve ElderCare at Altarum, which has developed a practical reform agenda for supporting elders who are living with disabilities and advanced illnesses called MediCaring Communities. Ms. Lynn is the author of more than 250 professional articles and a dozen books on palliative and end of life care. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, a Master in the American College of Physicians, and a Fellow of both the American Geriatrics Society and the Hastings Center. She received an MS in evaluative clinical sciences from Dartmouth College, an MA in philosophy and social policy from George Washington University, and an MD from Boston University. November 2018
