Max Birger, MD, is an internal medicine physician and faculty in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Max has conducted research focused on U.S. health care spending and factors associated with spending changes. Max attended medical school at Columbia University and completed internal medicine residency at the University of Washington. At UW, Max completed an elective with the Value and Systems Science Lab.
