Michelle Alletto serves as the Texas Health and Human Services Chief Program and Services Officer. Alletto has over a decade of experience working in public health and public management. She most recently worked in health policy at the Milbank Memorial Fund, where she advised a multi-state collaborative on Medicaid long-term services reform and identified best practices in Medicaid-financed mental health and substance use disorder services.
Alletto previously served as deputy secretary for the Louisiana Department of Health. In that role, she oversaw the successful restructuring of Medicaid waiver services for the aging and disability services. Before that, she led maternal and child health initiatives in Louisiana, including serving as the deputy director for the LDH Birth Outcomes Initiative. Alletto was also the assistant director for public policy at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs in Washington, DC.
She has a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from SUNY Empire State College. September 2019
