Dylan Rose Schneider has over 12 years of professional experience in external affairs, policy and planning and communications in the public and private sector.
Ms. Schneider has served as the Manager of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) since 2018 where she oversees government relations, public policy and compliance. In 2019, Ms. Schneider served as the Homeless Services Branch Lead during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and led the implementation of public health guidance across San Francisco’s Homelessness Response System. In 2020, Ms. Schneider was appointed to serve as the Interim Director of the Strategy and External Affairs Team overseeing strategy, communications and legislative affairs as the Department transitioned from response to recovery.
Ms. Schneider served as the Chief of Staff for the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management that manages the City and County’s Emergency Planning, Response and Services including the 911 dispatch center. Prior to joining the City and County of San Francisco, Ms. Schneider held various positions in the private and non-profit sectors leading strategic planning, policy, and partnerships, communications and operations for organizations addressing the issues of human rights, climate, health and financial justice.
Ms. Schneider holds an M.A in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and a B.A in International Studies and English from the University of Utah. In 2019 she graduated Harvard’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, an executive education program in Crisis Management. Dylan currently serves in a volunteer capacity on the University of San Francisco Master of Public Administration Advisory Board and the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Bay Area Chapter. When she’s not working, she enjoys embarking on adventures, crafting, traveling and reading with her cat.
