Emma Spencer, PhD, serves as the Director for the Division of Public Health Statistics and Performance Management at the Florida Department of Health. She provides oversight for the state’s Vital Statistics program, non-infectious disease epidemiology programs, Public Health Accreditation Board activities, state and community health improvement planning, public health research activities, data modernization, and workforce development. She has been with the Florida Department of Health since 2016. She was previously the Bureau Chief of Communicable Diseases, working with community stakeholders to improve services for those impacted by the HIV epidemic. Emma earned her PhD from the University of Aberdeen in 2006, Scotland, and her master’s in public health from Florida State University.
