Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary, Louisiana Department of Health
Katye Magee serves as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary at the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH). She supports policy development, communications, and daily operations for the department’s major program areas, including public health, behavioral health, and long-term services and supports. She currently spearheading several of the department’s priority initiatives such as development of a CMS 1115 demonstration waiver for pre-release services for incarcerated individuals and executing LDH’s maternal health strategic plan. Prior to LDH, she worked in public health and policy research at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Although Louisiana is now home, Katye was born and raised in south Mississippi. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Tulane University and a Masters in Public Administration from The George Washington University.
