Robin (Diggs) Perdue, MPH has over 18 years of experience as a public health professional in the Nation’s Capital. Currently, as the Deputy Director of Strategy, Programs and Policy for the District of Columbia Department of Health’s Community Health Administration. She oversees population health strategies for improving health outcomes across five broad areas: chronic disease prevention and control; perinatal and infant health; child, adolescent, and school health; nutrition and physical activity; and primary care access and quality. During the District’s COVID-19 pandemic response, Mrs. Perdue has served in numerous functions, working across the agency as the COVID-19 Epidemiology Operations Chief and directing the COVID-19 Contact Tracing Program made up of a 500 member surge workforce.
Previously, Mrs. Perdue served as the Bureau Chief of the Health Care Access Bureau comprised of the State Primary Care Office, Immunization Program, and Oral Health Program, leading population-based programs and transformative strategies to improve access to quality health care services among District residents. Also, as the former State Chronic Disease Director, Mrs. Perdue lead several of the District’s chronic disease prevention and management initiatives focused on health system quality improvement, environmental changes to support healthy lifestyles, and clinically integrated community programming. Former service also includes applied epidemiology and outbreak investigation/management, birth defects surveillance, tobacco control and adjunct faculty for the University of Phoenix.
Mrs. Perdue received her B.A. in Sociology from Spelman College with a fellowship through the Morehouse College Public Health Sciences Institute, and her M.P.H. in Epidemiology from The George Washington University.
